When conducting re-completions or workovers, it is often necessary to utilise Radial Cutting Torches (RCT) to sever the inner mandrel of the completion packer allowing it to unset and be pulled out of the well.

Due to the precise cutting ability of the RCT there is no collateral damage and only the mandrel in the completions packer assembly is cut. All makes of “cut to release” completion packers can be cut by the RCT. If there is a specific size of mandrel to be cut that we don’t have records of the same or very similar, then a cut test is strongly recommended.
